The PCHS Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that the Society’s
new publication, Historic Passaic County: An Illustrated History
by Edward A. Smyk, is now available for sale. This hardcover 72 page
publication consists of 47 one page essays, 4 pages of references, 57 photographs,
8 woodcuts, engravings, a watercolor, and drawings for a total of 65 illustrations.
Author Ed Smyk is the Passaic County Historian and a PCHS Trustee.
Ed has been affiliated with the Society since 1962. In 1987, he was presented
with the NJ Local Historians’ Award of Distinction by the NJ Historical
Commission, the NJ Historical Society, and the League of Historical Societies
of New Jersey.
The Society is grateful for the financial support of local business
