the First World War, posters were an effective way for the government
and other organizations to communicate with the American public.
Posters were used as a means of recruiting military personnel,
justifyiing American involvement in the War, inspiring civilians to
participate in the war effort, raising money for war expenses or
to fund charities helping with the war effort.
