Mansions Along the
Delaware
Bus Trip
June 2009
| Genealogy Club members
Dorothy and George Decker organized a most enjoyable bus trip on June 20th
to three historic mansions along the Delaware River. The tour included
Andalusia, a Greek Revival house with a monumental columned porch overlooking
the Delaware, the Grundy Mansion, an excellent example of the decor and
furnishings of the Victorian era, and Pennsbury Mansion, the recreated
17th century estate of William Penn. Travelers enjoyed lunch at the historic
King George II Inn which was established in 1861 and is the oldest continously
operating inn in the United States. |
